I returned from 8 months of ballooning in Fiji. It was some of the best balloon flights of my career. Hot air ballooning back in Arizona has its own merits. We had a great hot air balloon ride today. We took off at Cave Creek and Pinnacle Peak Rd’s and flew all the way to 51st Ave and Carefree Highway. Our sunrise balloon flights fit off at sunrise. This time of year sunrise is 7:12 AM  and our Afternoon balloon flights meet at 3:30 P.M. These two time frames give us ideal conditions. In the middle of the day the air is unstable. if you could invasion the air looking like water it starts to boil a few hours after sunrise and it calms down again two hours before sun set most days. I just returned from Dallas Texas. Flying a balloon for the NFL. The 2001 Super Bowl was a cross between ice Road Truckers and Hot air ballooning. It was cold.  We stood balloons up in wind and freezing cold conditions and we even laid out on what looked like a slushy drink.  Its sure nice to be back in AZ where it is warm.
